The 4th annual Workplace Green Up employee engagement program has come to an end. This year’s winners include:

Congratulations to the winners of this year’s Workplace Green Up and thank you to all of our members who participated. We hope you are inspired to continue implementing sustainability practices at your workplace and beyond. See you next year!
Workplace Green Up is back for its 5th consecutive year! This program supports Green Economy London members to embed sustainability into their work culture by engaging employees in sustainability activities. These activities are designed to be easily incorporated into daily work habits, helping to make sustainability a natural part of the workplace.
This year Workplace Green Up will run from September 30th to October 27th and each week members can earn points by completing sustainability activities focusing on our four target areas: GHG emissions reduction, environmental stewardship, waste reduction and diversion, and water conservation.
Participating organizations can share photos and/or videos of them completing activities on social media using the hashtag #WorkplaceGreenUp2024 or by emailing in their submissions.
Schedule:
Week 1: GHG Emissions Reduction – September 30th – October 6th
Week 2: Environmental Stewardship – October 7th – October 13th
Week 3: Waste Reduction and Diversion – October 14th – October 20th
Week 4: Water Conservation – October 21st – October 27th
Bonus activities can be completed at any point during the four weeks.
How to Participate:
- All employees are encouraged to participate however, businesses with more than five employees must have at least 2 employees participate per organization.
- Email Alix, alix@londonenvironment.net, to indicate that your organization will be participating.
- Activities should be completed during their assigned week.
- Organizations can earn points for each activity by posting a photo of the activity on Instagram, Facebook, or Linkedin and tagging Green Economy London using the hashtag #WorkplaceGreenUp2024. Submissions will also be accepted over email.
- Points are tailed per organization that completes an activity and not per individual.
Prizes:
- 1st Place: Lomi Kitchen Countertop Food Recycler, $250 in gift cards to a GEL member of choice, and a physical award to display at your workplace.
- 2nd Place: $200 in gift cards to a GEL member of choice and a physical award to display at your workplace
- 3rd Place: $150 in gift cards to a GEL member of choice and a physical award to display at your workplace

Green Economy London is a sustainable business program of the London Environmental Network. The program supports businesses in setting and achieving sustainability targets for GHG emissions reduction, waste reduction and diversion, water consumption, and environmental stewardship. Through collaboration, celebration and recognition, one-on-one support, workshops, and resources, they are empowering businesses to demonstrate a sustainable economy is possible. Workplace Green Up is a great way for Green Economy London members to have a fun and valuable environmental experience.
