Current Volunteer Roles

Graphic Designer

Do you have graphic design skills, are passionate about environmental sustainability and are looking for an opportunity to volunteer your skills and make a difference in your local community?

Green Economy London is looking to build a team of “on-call” Graphic Designer volunteers to complete various projects. You will create new design content in line with our brand, and support the organization to maintain a consistent visual identity across a diverse range of print and web projects.

As a Graphic Designer you would:

  • Work with the Hub Manager to ensure that designs align with Green Economy London’s brand identity, logo and professional templates
  • Assist with the ongoing graphic design needs of Green Economy London, including the revision and creation of print materials, signage, web design, corporate slide decks, and year-end report

As a strong candidate for this role, you have:

  • Knowledge and experience in, and access to Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Illustrator, or InDesign
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team that provides and receives feedback on creative concepts
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Post-secondary education in a graphic design related discipline or relevant experience an asset

This is a project-based role and the time commitment will vary with the type and complexity of the project.

Communications Coordinator

Do you have communications skills, are passionate about environmental sustainability and are looking for an opportunity to volunteer your skills and make a difference in your local community?

Green Economy London is looking to build a team of communication volunteers to complete various projects. You will manage other volunteers who are creating new design content in line with our brand, and various communication pieces including video, images, blog posts and social media content.

As the Communications Coordinator you would:

  • Work with the Hub Manager to ensure that all communications on the website and social media pages are aligned with the mission and branding of the Hub
  • Manage a team of graphic design and communication content specialist volunteers who would report to you on a variety of projects
  • Ensure that social media posts are being shared to maximize engagement

As a strong candidate for this role, you have:

  • Knowledge and experience in communications and social media
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team that provides and receives feedback on creative concepts
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Post-secondary education in a communication related discipline or relevant experience an asset

Time Commitment:

Approximately 5 hours per week (including monthly meeting with the Hub Manager) for a one year minimum with strong preference for a longer term commitment

Events Manager

Do you have event planning skills, are passionate about environmental sustainability and are looking for an opportunity to volunteer your skills and make a difference in your local community?

Green Economy London is looking to build a team of event planning volunteers to organize various events. You will manage other volunteers who helping plan and execute Green Economy London events such as our annual Evening of Recognition, education forums, workshops and webinars as well as an annual conference.

As the Events Manager you would:

  • Work with the Hub Manager to ensure that all upcoming events are being planned effectively, and that events are well publicized and members are aware of the upcoming events
  • Manage a team of event volunteers to assist with the organization and delivery of events (including booking venues, creating invites, managing event registration and the variety of tasks associated with events)
  • Ensure that social media posts are being shared to encourage attendance to events

As a strong candidate for this role, you have:

  • Knowledge and experience in event planning
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team that provides and receives feedback on creative concepts
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Post-secondary education in a communication related discipline or relevant experience an asset

Time Commitment:
