Green Economy Canada has launched the Climate Action Microgrant, a fantastic opportunity to secure funding for your sustainability projects. Thanks to the generous support of the HSBC Bank Canada, there are ten microgrants of up to $2500 each available to eligible members of Green Economy London. These grants are aimed at advancing greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction, water conservation, and waste reduction and diversion initiatives.
As a microgrant recipient, you will also be featured in a case study to showcase your organization and the impact of your sustainability initiatives.
The application period for the Climate Action Microgrant is now open and closes on August 31, 2023. It is important to note that projects must be completed by February 28, 2024, to be eligible for the grant. See below for more details.
Who is Eligible?
To be eligible for the Climate Action Microgrant, applicants must:
- Be a member of Green Economy London in good standing;
- Have a GHG Inventory up-to-date as of a minimum of 2021
What Projects Are Eligible?
Sustainability projects that focus on:
- Reducing overall GHG emissions (Scope 1, Scope 2, or Scope 3)
- Reducing energy consumption
- Reducing water consumption
- Reducing waste generation or supporting improved waste diversion
- Conducting an Audit or Study which will support the implementation of energy, water, or waste projects (ie Waste Audit, Energy Audit, Water Balance, etc).
How Will Projects Be Assessed?
Projects that fulfill GHG emissions reduction, water conservation, and waste reduction goals to the greatest extent will be prioritized for funding.
All applications will be reviewed by September 11, 2023.
How Much Can I Receive?
You can receive 50% of your project cost, up to $2500. These funds can be combined (stacked) with funding from government, utility, provincial energy efficiency, or industry sources, allowing you to maximize the impact of your sustainability projects.
Application Process:
To apply for the Climate Action Microgrant, please complete the Application Form. Before starting the application, you can consult the Application Guide and ensure you have collected all the necessary information required for the online submission. Once you have gathered all the needed material, the application process should take approximately 20 minutes. Successful applicants will be notified by September 11, 2023.
